Holly Hunter on respecting the creative environment
Holly Hunter says about developing her talent as an actor, that she was “trying to get as much experience as I could. But very early on, I was always extremely particular. From the beginning, I was never desperate.
“I did other things for money; you know, the normal, boring stuff - I temped, I did waitressing.
“But I actually quit a play early on in my career - it was one of the first things that I ever got cast in, but I quit because there was something about it that I didn’t like.
“I didn’t think the director was the right guy to be directing it. So I’ve never felt that every situation was great for me and therefore I would have to stay.
“To me, being creative is a very fragile thing, the environment in which one can create is a very particular one, and somehow I’ve always felt the need to be very protective of that….”
She thinks you need to acknowledge the fickle nature of the profession: “Actors are beggars and gypsies, that’s just the way it is. And in many ways, I take what I can get. But I do search high and low for stuff that interests me.” [quotes from imdb.com]

I am concerned that this greatly talented woman is anorexic and/or bulimic .. one can count all her ribs, see her pelvic bones, when she is seen doing a semi-nude scene on the show Amazing Grace. Granted, she is only 5′2″, however, she needs to “put a little meat on her bones.”
